The next workday is rescheduled for February 21, 2015 at 1pm, due to the forecast of much needed rain for the original date, February 7. The work will focus on fruit tree pruning.
The engineering report on the Bowerman Barn, “Bowerman Barn Repair-Phase 2 report,” has been submitted to the USFS by Alpen Engineering in conjunction with Shasta Services Inc. The report contains a wealth of engineering information about the barn and proposed repairs. An additional document, “Combined TF drawings” contains CAD drawings of the barn.
In 1993 the “Bowerman Barn Historic Complex Interpretive Plan” was prepared by J. Hanna, L. Brochu, and T. Chilton for the USFS. This plan needs to be reviewed and updated to reflect changes in the last 22 years and align it with the goals of the Community vision.
District Ranger Leslie Yen and staff members of the USFS Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area (NRA) met at the Bowerman barn on Wednesday January 7, 2015 to discuss how to move forward on several issues such as the interpretive trail, improved signage, and cemetery area.
